Tehran, IRNA – The armed wing of Palestine’s Hamas Resistance Movement, the Ezzedine al-Qassem Brigades, has issued a stern warning to the Zionist regime over the killing of civilians in the besieged Gaza Strip, announcing that an Israeli captive will be executed each time Gazans are targeted without prior warning.
“Any targeting of innocent civilians without warning will be met regretfully by executing one of the captives in our custody, and we will be forced to broadcast this execution,” Al Jazeera quoted Qassam Brigades’ Spokesman Abu Obeida as saying on Monday.
“We regret this decision, but we hold the Zionist enemy and their leadership responsible for this,” he added, according to the Qatar-based news network.
The Zionist regime’s Foreign Minister Eli Cohen has said that more than 100 people have been taken captive by Hamas and taken to Gaza since Saturday when the Palestinian resistance movement launched its unprecedented attack on positions in the occupied territories.
The regime has responded with heavy bombardments in the Gaza Strip, killing 560 Palestinians as of Monday night, according to the Health Ministry in Gaza which is run by Hamas.
The Zionist regime has said that its aerial attacks on the coastal enclave are one of the largest it has carried out there. The regime has also announced that it will impose a “total blockade” on the Gaza Strip including a ban on admitting food and fuel.
